Pastoral Services :: Pastoral CareSenior Ministry
St. Francis of Assisi Senior Group meets the first Thursday of each month. Meetings are usually held immediately following the 8:00 a.m. mass and include breakfast, followed by a spiritual or health issue presentation or a trip to a mission, mini-retreats, celebrations, picnics and parties. Past trips also included a visit to the Crystal Cathedral in Anaheim for an Easter program – and a future trip may include a visit to Queen of Angels Cathedral in Los Angeles. All mature Christians are invited to attend these meetings and outings. Group:
The Bereavement Group is a grief ministry, offering support to those who are grieving over the loss of a loved one and are seeking healing in a supportive and prayerful environment. Healing is sought through examining each stage in the grief process and journeying through sorrow with compassionate individuals who are at various stages in this process. This group has a luncheon meeting every Thursday at 12 noon.
Spanish Eucharistic Ministers for the Sick:
This group meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Time is spent in reflection and prayer and mutual encouragement for each individual, as well as inspiration for the Ministry.
Health Ministry:
This group has various functions and is in need of caring individuals who would like to serve as ministers to the sick and shut-ins; help to facilitate transitional events in the lives of those who are experiencing major life changes, such as: the loss of mobility and independence by losing the ability to drive; a move to a new and different environment; or a simple visit to the lonely, sick and/or elderly members of our parish. Active or retired medical personnel (MD, RN, EMT, Paramedic) are especially encouraged to join this group to provide the skills and knowledge required for those in need of this ministry.
Funeral Ministry:
Compassionate volunteers are needed as greeters, lectors and Eucharistic Ministers to assist in this special ministry to bereaved family and friends of the deceased. Volunteers will be called on short notice for participation at masses and funeral services.
